Eleuterio Delgado y Martín (born April 18, 1852 – died April 13, 1908) was an important Spanish lawyer and politician. He was briefly a Minister of Finance during the time of King Alfonso XIII of Spain.

Becoming a Lawyer

After finishing his studies, Eleuterio Delgado became a special kind of lawyer. He worked as a state attorney (which in Spanish is called Abogado del Estado). This job meant he represented the government in legal matters. He worked in different cities like León, Bilbao, and Ávila.

His Time in Politics

Eleuterio Delgado was very involved in the government of Spain. He was elected to the Spanish Congress, which is like the parliament where laws are made. In Spain, this group is called the Cortes.

Serving in Congress

He was first elected to the Cortes in 1901. He represented the area of Viveiro. People liked his work, so they voted for him again in 1903 for the same area. Later, in 1905, he was elected to represent a different area called Riaza. His last election was in 1907, when he was once again chosen to represent Viveiro.

Minister of Finance

One of his most important roles was when he became the Minister of Finance. This job means he was in charge of the country's money, taxes, and how the government spent its funds. He served in this role for a very short time, from November 30 to December 4, 1906. He was part of the government led by Segismundo Moret.

Later Life

Eleuterio Delgado passed away on April 13, 1908, in Madrid. He was 55 years old.
