Elin Ek, born on 31 August 1973 in By, Sweden, is a famous Swedish cross-country skier. She competed for Sweden in three Olympic Games. These were the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, and the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin.

Elin Ek has won many important races. She won the Tjejvasan race twice, first in 1999 and again in 2006. She also won the main women's Vasaloppet race in 2007. This is a very long and famous cross-country ski race in Sweden. She also won the women's Worldloppet series during the 2006/2007 season. The Worldloppet is a series of long-distance ski races held around the world.

Elin's National Championships

Elin Ek also showed her strength in Swedish national championships. She won several titles in different distances:

  • She won the 10-kilometer race in 2006.
  • She won the 30-kilometer race in both 2003 and 2004.
  • She won the pursuit race in 2003 and 2004. A pursuit race combines different skiing styles.
  • She won the skiathlon in 2007. Skiathlon is another race that mixes classic and freestyle skiing.
  • She won the sprint race in 2003. Sprint races are short and fast.

In 2008, Elin was part of the IFK Mora team that won the relay event. A relay race is where team members take turns skiing parts of the course.
