Elin Fflur (born 26 July 1984) is a famous Welsh singer, songwriter, and TV and radio presenter. She is well-known for her beautiful voice and for hosting popular shows in Wales. Elin has been active in music and television since 2002.

Growing Up in Wales

Elin Fflur was born in a town called Llanfairpwllgwyngyll on Anglesey, an island in Wales. She was the oldest of three children. Elin went to Ysgol David Hughes secondary school and later studied at Bangor University.

From a very young age, Elin loved to perform. She started taking part in local Eisteddfodau (Welsh festivals of literature, music, and performance) when she was just three years old. She became a familiar face at these big events.

Elin's mom was also a singer in a Welsh folk band called Bran. This band even won a famous competition called Cân i Gymru in 1978. This shows that music runs in Elin's family!

Her Music Journey

Elin Fflur first became famous in 2002 when she won Cân i Gymru (which means "A Song for Wales"). This is a big music competition in Wales. She won with a song called "Harbwr Diogel" ("Safe Bay"). This song was written by Arfon Wyn.

After winning, Elin released her first album, also called Harbwr Diogel, in 2002. Her next album, Dim gair (meaning "Speechless"), came out in 2003 and was very popular. It even reached the top of the charts on BBC Radio Cymru.

Elin has released several other albums, including Cysgodion (2004), Hafana (2008), and Lleuad Llawn (2014). She has also been part of bands like Carlotta and Y Moniars.

Since 2011, Elin has been a co-presenter for Cân i Gymru, the same competition she won as a singer! She helps host the show every year on S4C, the Welsh-language TV channel.

In 2012, Elin became one of the main presenters for Heno, an evening magazine show. She presents the show regularly, talking about different topics and interviewing guests.

Hosting Big Events

Elin also hosts many big annual events in Wales. These include the Urdd National Eisteddfod, the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, and the National Eisteddfod of Wales. These events are huge celebrations of Welsh culture, music, and arts.

She has also presented episodes of Noson Lawen, a popular entertainment show. In 2020, Elin started hosting a new show called Sgwrs dan y Lloer ("A conversation under the moonlight"). In this show, she has friendly chats with famous guests in their own gardens.
