Lucie's Life and Career
Lucie Jones was born in Pentyrch, a small village near Cardiff, Wales. When she was 16, in 2007, she attended the World Scout Jamboree. This is a huge international gathering for Scouts from all over the world. Lucie was the main singer for the event's theme song, "Jambo". She also performed in Cardiff's local Scout and Guide Gang Show. In 2017, she married Ethan Boroian, who was also a contestant on The X Factor.
Her Time on The X Factor
Lucie first auditioned for The X Factor UK in 2009. She sang "I Will Always Love You" and impressed the judges. She made it to the live shows, where she was guided by judge Dannii Minogue.
Lucie was eliminated in week five of the live shows. She was in the bottom two with another act, John & Edward. The judges' votes were tied, so the decision went to a "deadlock." This means the public's votes were used to decide who stayed. Lucie received fewer public votes and was sent home. Many viewers complained about this decision.

Performing in the West End
After The X Factor, Lucie started a modeling career. But her passion was performing! In 2010, she was chosen to play Cosette in the famous musical Les Misérables in London's West End. The West End is like Broadway in New York, a famous area for theatres.
Lucie has played many roles in popular musicals:
- She was Meat in the 2013 tour of We Will Rock You, a musical based on Queen's songs.
- She played Victoria in American Psycho in 2013.
- In 2015, she was Molly in the Chinese tour of Ghost the Musical.
- From 2016 to 2018, she starred as Elle Woods in Legally Blonde, a fun musical about a fashion student who goes to law school.
- She also played Maureen Johnson in the UK tour of Rent.
Eurovision Song Contest 2017

In January 2017, Lucie competed in a show called Eurovision: You Decide. This show picked who would represent the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. Her song, "Never Give Up on You", was co-written by Emmelie de Forest, who won Eurovision in 2013.
Lucie won Eurovision: You Decide! This meant she would represent the UK in Eurovision 2017, held in Kyiv, Ukraine. At the Grand Final, Lucie performed her song. She scored 111 points from both the jury (music experts) and the public votes. She even received 12 points from the Australian jury, which is the highest score a country can give! Some news articles suggested that the UK's exit from the European Union (Brexit) might have affected her score. However, Lucie said in a TV interview that she didn't notice any negative feelings from other contestants or fans because of Brexit.
More West End Roles
Lucie returned to the West End in June 2019 to play Jenna in the musical Waitress. This show is about a baker who dreams of a better life. She played this role until the show closed early in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Lucie then reprised her role as Jenna for the UK & Ireland tour of Waitress starting in September 2021.
In summer 2021, Lucie took on another big role: Fantine in Les Misérables again, but this time in the West End production. She played this role until August 2021.
In February 2022, Lucie made her debut as Elphaba in Wicked at London's Apollo Victoria Theatre. Elphaba is the famous green witch! She finished her run in March 2023. After Wicked, she returned to play Fantine in Les Misérables once more in March 2023. In 2024, she played Genevieve in the musical The Baker's Wife. Lucie also toured with The Fulltone Orchestra in April and May 2023 Lucie Jones & The Fulltone Orchestra 2023.
