Elisa's Gymnastics Journey

Junior Competitions

Elisa Meneghini started her gymnastics career strong as a junior. In 2011, she helped the Italian team win a gold medal at the 2011 European Youth Summer Olympic Festival. This event is like a mini-Olympics for young athletes. Individually, she also won a bronze medal in the all-around competition, which means she was one of the top gymnasts across all events.

In 2012, Elisa competed at the Junior European Championships. Her team, which included Enus Mariani, Lara Mori, Tea Ugrin, and Alessia Leolini, won the silver medal. This was a great achievement for Italy! Elisa also performed well individually. She finished fourth in the all-around final, just missing a bronze medal by a tiny amount. She then won a bronze medal on the balance beam, showing her skill on this challenging apparatus. She also placed well in other events, finishing sixth on vault, seventh on uneven bars, and fifth on floor exercise.

Senior Competitions

Elisa became old enough to compete at the senior level in 2013. She quickly made her mark, competing at the 2013 European Championships. She reached the all-around final and finished seventh, which is excellent for a first-year senior. She also placed seventh in the balance beam final. Later that year, she won a silver medal in the all-around at the Italian Championships.

In 2014, Elisa continued to shine. She won a silver medal on the balance beam at the City of Jesolo Trophy, a big international competition. She helped the Italian team finish fifth at the 2014 European Championships. Elisa had an amazing year at the 2014 Italian Championships, where she won the all-around title by a large margin. She also took home two more gold medals for her performances on the balance beam and floor exercise.

Elisa won another silver medal with the Italian team at the 2015 City of Jesolo Trophy. She also competed at the 2015 World Championships, where the Italian team finished seventh. This competition is very important because it helps teams qualify for the Olympics.

In 2016, Elisa competed at the Stuttgart World Cup, finishing eighth in the all-around. She also helped the Italian team place fifth at the European Championships. At the 2016 Italian Championships, she won a gold medal on the floor exercise, a silver on the balance beam, and a bronze in the all-around. Because of her strong performances, she was chosen to represent Italy at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. At the Olympics, she competed on vault, balance beam, and floor exercise, helping Italy finish tenth in the team qualifications.

Elisa's final international competition was the 2018 Doha World Cup. She won a gold medal on the floor exercise, tying with two other gymnasts. After this, she stopped competing internationally and finished her domestic competitions in 2020.
