Carlotta Ferlito, born on February 15, 1995, is a talented Italian artistic gymnast. She began her senior career in 2011 and has since won several medals. Carlotta has competed for Italy in two Olympic Games (2012 and 2016). She is also known for being the first Italian gymnast to perform a special move on the floor exercise called the "Mustafina." This move is a triple turn with one leg held up in a split position.

About Carlotta Ferlito
Carlotta Ferlito was born in Catania, Sicily, Italy. Her parents are Roberta Parasilti and Massimo Ferlito. She has an older brother named Gianpaolo and an older sister named Ludovica.
Carlotta's Gymnastics Journey
Carlotta started gymnastics when she was six years old. In 2007, she moved to Lissone, a town near Milan. There, she trained at a famous gymnastics club called GAL Lissone.
Junior Competitions
2009: Early Success
In March 2009, Carlotta competed in the City of Jesolo Trophy in Italy for the first time. She earned second place in the all-around competition. Later that year, in December, she finished sixth in the all-around at the Gymnasiade in Doha, Qatar. She also won a silver medal on the balance beam at this event.
2010: Youth Olympic Medals
In March 2010, Carlotta competed again at the City of Jesolo Trophy. The next month, she helped the Italian team win a bronze medal at the 2010 European Women's Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Birmingham.
In August, Carlotta competed at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics in Singapore. This was a big event for young athletes. She won a bronze medal in the all-around competition. She also earned a bronze medal on vault and a silver medal on balance beam.

2011: First Senior Medals
Carlotta's first year as a senior gymnast was 2011. At the 2011 European Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Berlin, she won a silver medal on the balance beam. She also placed sixth on the floor exercise.
At the Italian Championships in Meda, Carlotta won several medals. She took home silver in the all-around, silver on vault, and gold medals on both balance beam and floor. In October, she competed in her first World Championships in Tokyo. Italy's team finished ninth, just missing out on a guaranteed spot for the 2012 Olympics.
2012: Olympic Debut
In January 2012, Carlotta helped the Italian team qualify for the Olympics at the London Prepares series. The team finished first, securing their spot. Carlotta also won gold on the balance beam at this event.
In May, at the 2012 European Women's Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Brussels, Carlotta helped the Italian team win a bronze medal. At the Italian Championships, she won silver in the all-around and gold on balance beam.
In July, Carlotta made her Olympic debut at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. She competed in the all-around final, finishing 21st. She also helped the Italian team finish seventh in the team final.
2013–2014: World Championships and Recovery

In 2014, Carlotta faced some challenges. She became sick with mononucleosis and spent several months recovering from her illness and injuries.
2015: Back to Worlds
Carlotta returned to competition in March 2015 at the City of Jesolo Trophy, where she won a bronze medal on beam. She was chosen to compete at the 2015 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. The Italian team qualified for the 2016 Summer Olympics by finishing seventh. Carlotta performed well in the all-around final, finishing 12th.
2016: Second Olympics

In March 2016, Carlotta had a scary moment at the City of Jesolo Trophy. She fell during her beam dismount and was taken to the hospital. Luckily, scans showed no serious injuries.
Later that year, Carlotta competed in her second Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. She finished 12th in the all-around final. The Italian team placed tenth in qualifications.
2019: Universiade Success
In 2019, Carlotta won a gold medal on the floor exercise at the Gymnastics at the 2019 Summer Universiade. She also helped her team win a bronze medal at the same event.

Carlotta on TV
From 2011 to 2013, Carlotta was part of a reality TV show called Gymnasts: Parallel Lives. This show was on MTV Italy and followed the lives of top gymnasts training in Milan.
In 2018, Carlotta also appeared on the Italian version of the talent show Dance Dance Dance. She danced with her partner, Frank Chamizo, and they were the fourth pair to be eliminated from the competition.
