Learning and Working Life
Elizabeth Croft studied at several universities. She finished her first degree at the University of British Columbia in 1988. Then, she earned a master's degree from the University of Waterloo in 1992. She completed her highest degree, a Ph.D., at the University of Toronto in 1995.
Teaching and Leadership Roles
After her studies, Dr. Croft became a professor at the University of British Columbia. She taught in the Mechanical Engineering Department. She also held special roles, like being a professor in Engineering Economics. She was also an associate dean, which means she helped manage the Faculty of Applied Science.
From 2010 to 2015, she was a special leader for women in science and engineering. This role helped encourage more women to join these fields. She also led a national group that supported women in science.
In 2017, Dr. Croft moved to Monash University in Australia. There, she became the dean of engineering. This meant she was in charge of the whole engineering school. She was also a professor in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, and Computer Systems Engineering.
