Their Music Journey
Winning Eurovision
In the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest, Eldar Gasimov and Nigar Jamal performed together. They used the duo name Ell & Nikki. The contest was held in a Western European country. The name change helped avoid confusion with Nigar Jamal's first name.
Their winning song was "Running Scared." It was written by Stefan Örn and Sandra Bjurman from Sweden. Iain Farquharson from the UK also helped write the song. Their performance included four backing singers. These included Jessica Marberger and Vera Prada. They had tried to represent Sweden earlier that year.
