Ellsworth is a small town, also called a borough, located in Washington County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. In 2020, a count of all the people living there, called a census, showed that 947 people lived in Ellsworth.
Ellsworth was once a busy coal town. This means it was a community built around coal mining. It was started by a man named James Ellsworth. He bought the land in the 1890s. He also helped build the Monongahela Railway to transport coal. Later, in the 1920s, he sold the mines to a big company called Bethlehem Steel.
