Eloise is a fun series of children's books. They were written in the 1950s by Kay Thompson (1909–1998). The amazing pictures were drawn by Hilary Knight (born 1926). After the first Eloise book came out in 1955, Thompson and Knight made four more stories.
Eloise is a lively young girl. She lives in a special room "on the tippy-top floor" of the famous Plaza Hotel in New York City. She lives there with her kind Nanny. Her pets are a cute pug dog named Weenie and a turtle called Skipperdee.

Filmmaker Lena Dunham has an Eloise tattoo. She also made a short documentary film for HBO. It was called It's Me, Hilary: The Man Who Drew Eloise. This film tells the story of Hilary Knight, who illustrated the Eloise books.
