Eloise Mumford is an American actress. She was born on September 24, 1986. She is well-known for her roles in TV shows. These include Lone Star, The River, and The Right Stuff. She also appeared in the Fifty Shades of Grey movies.
Early Life and Learning
Eloise Mumford grew up in Olympia, Washington. She is the middle child of Tom Mumford and Nancy Smith. She was taught at home until fifth grade. After that, she went to Nova Middle School. She also attended Annie Wright Schools and Capital High School. She has an older sister named Anna and a younger brother named Kai.
When she was seven, she saw a play called South Pacific. This show inspired her to become an actress. She performed in high school plays. She also acted at Olympia's Capital Playhouse.
In 2009, she finished her studies at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. She also studied at the Atlantic Acting School. While in college, she acted in a short film. It was called "Some Boys Don't Leave." She also worked as a backup actress for Elisabeth Moss in a Broadway play. The play was called Speed the Plow.
Acting Career
Eloise Mumford started her acting career in TV shows. In 2010, she was cast in the Fox series Lone Star. This was her first big role after college. In 2012, she starred as Lena Landry. This was in the ABC show The River.
She also took on lead roles in movies. She was the main female character in Not Safe For Work. This movie was made by Blumhouse Productions. She also starred in the independent film Drones. In this movie, she acted alongside Matt O'Leary.
In 2012, she was chosen for a new ABC drama pilot. It was called Reckless. She played Kate Kavanagh in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie in 2015. Kate was the roommate of the main character, Anastasia Steele. She played this role again in the follow-up movies. These were Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed.
In 2019, she acted with Billy Crystal and Ben Schwartz. This was in the independent film Standing Up, Falling Down. In 2020, she played Trudy Cooper. This was the main female role in the Disney+ TV series The Right Stuff.
