Elsey, Missouri facts for kids
Elsey is a small community located in Stone County, Missouri, in the United States. It's known as an "unincorporated community," which means it's a place where people live, but it doesn't have its own official city government or mayor. Instead, it's managed as part of the larger county.
Discovering Elsey
Elsey is found right where two state roads, Route 173 and Route 413, cross paths. It's also located about halfway between the towns of Galena and Crane. This community is also part of the Branson, Missouri Micropolitan Statistical Area. This means it's connected to the nearby city of Branson for things like jobs and services.
A Bit of History
Elsey once had its very own post office! It first opened its doors in the year 1900. For many years, people in Elsey could send and receive their mail right there. However, the post office eventually closed down in 1957. The name "Elsey" was actually chosen by the postal officials when they first set up the post office.
