Emeis Park and Golf Course is a huge park in Davenport, Iowa, United States. It covers about 210-acre (0.85 km2) of land. This awesome park is on the west side of Davenport. It's a great place for families and friends to have fun outdoors!

Discover Emeis Park and Golf Course
Emeis Park has many cool things to do. You can have a picnic with your family at one of the picnic shelters. There's also playground equipment for younger kids to enjoy. If you like sports, you'll find ball fields, basketball courts, and tennis courts. It's a perfect spot to play your favorite games! The park is also where the Duck Creek Parkway starts on its western end.
The Emeis Golf Course
One of the main attractions at Emeis Park is its amazing golf course. It has 18 holes, which means you play 18 different sections of the course. It's a "par 72" course, meaning a good golfer would aim to finish all 18 holes in 72 strokes. The golf course itself is about 155-acre (0.63 km2) big. It stretches for about 6,500-yard (5,900 m) and has gentle rolling hills, making it an interesting challenge.
A Course for Golf Legends
The Emeis Golf Course was designed by C.D. Wagstaff. It first opened to the public on August 19, 1961. To celebrate, two famous golfers, Arnold Palmer and Gary Player, played an exhibition match. Gary Player won that day, shooting a score of 68 compared to Arnold Palmer's 69.
Emeis Golf Course became known as a tough course. From 1966 to 1968, Golf Digest magazine even listed it as one of "America's Toughest Golf Courses" three times! Today, it's still known as Davenport's most challenging public golf course.
Hosting Big Golf Events
This course has hosted some important golf tournaments. In 1962 and 1967, it was the site of the NAIA Men's Golf Championship. Every year, Emeis also holds the Quad-City Amateur Golf Tournament. Plus, it hosts qualifying rounds for the PGA Tour's John Deere Classic. This means professional golfers sometimes play here to earn a spot in that big tournament!
