Early Life and Education
Emel Toshkova was born in the town of Isperih, Bulgaria. In 1981, she finished her studies at the "Angel Kunchev" Higher Technical School in Ruse. There, she earned a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. After her studies, she worked as a Construction Engineer. She was employed at the Naiden Kirov plant in Ruse from 1981 to 1992.
Role in Government
Emel Toshkova held significant roles in the Bulgarian government. From August 17, 2005, until July 2009, she served as the Deputy Prime Minister. At the same time, she was also the Minister of Emergencies. This meant she was responsible for managing and responding to major events like natural disasters.
