Emi Takei (武井 咲, Takei Emi, born December 25, 1993) is a famous Japanese actress and model. She has starred in many TV shows and movies. Emi is known for her roles in the Rurouni Kenshin film series and various TV dramas.

Emi's Early Life and Career Start

Emi Takei was born in Nagoya, Japan. When she was in junior high, she told her parents she wanted to become a model. She worked hard to make this dream come true.

In 2006, Emi joined the 11th Japan Bishōjo Contest. This is a big competition for young female talents. She won two awards: the Model Division Award and the Multi-Media Award. This was a great start to her career!

Becoming a Top Model

After her contest wins, Emi started her modeling career. In November 2006, she appeared in Seventeen magazine. This was her very first job in entertainment.

By February 2007, she became an exclusive model for Seventeen. This meant she worked only for them. She even got her first solo cover on the magazine's February 15 issue.

In September 2010, Emi became the face of "Beamie." This was a special website for celebrities. Later that year, she made history by winning the "Best Dresser Award." She was the youngest person ever to receive this award.

Acting Debut and Success

Emi Takei started acting in January 2011. She appeared in the Fuji TV drama Taisetsu na Koto wa Subete Kimi ga Oshiete Kureta. She won her role after an audition with 800 other people.

Soon after, she got her first main role in the TV Asahi drama Asuko March! in April. She quickly became a popular actress.

In November 2011, she won the "Best Smile of the Year" award. In December, she became the first Japanese person to sign a contract with the famous Italian brand Gucci.

Singing and Beyond

On December 12, 2011, Emi also started a singing career. She released her first song, "Koisuru Kimochi," with Universal Japan. A famous musician named Takuro from the band Glay wrote the song for her.

In August 2012, Emi finished her work as a Seventeen model. She had been with the magazine for almost six years.
