Hanna Emilia Rydberg-Mitiku, known simply as Emilia, is a talented singer from Sweden. She was born on January 5, 1978. Emilia is famous for her pop and soul music. Her biggest hit song, "Big Big World", became super popular in 1998. It reached number one in many countries around the world!

Emilia's Life and Music Journey
Emilia's father is Teshome Mitiku, a well-known singer from Ethiopia. Her mother, Malena Rydberg, is Swedish. Emilia grew up in Stockholm, Sweden. She even attended the famous Adolf Fredrik's Music School there.
How Emilia Started Her Career
A talent scout named Lars Anderson discovered Emilia in 1996. Lars is the son of Stig Anderson, who managed the legendary band ABBA. When she first started, Emilia used only her first name, Emilia. More recently, she has begun performing as Emilia Mitiku, using her father's last name.
Competing in Melodifestivalen
In 2009, Emilia took part in Melodifestivalen. This is a big music contest in Sweden. It decides who will represent Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest. Emilia sang the song "You're My World". She did very well and went straight to the final round. In the final, she finished in ninth place.
New Music and Collaborations
After Melodifestivalen, Emilia released her album My World in 2009. Her song "Teardrops" was also released to radio stations that year. She also recorded a duet called "Side By Side" with a singer named Ákos Dobrády. They sang it in both Hungarian and English.
Emilia also recorded her own version of Rihanna's song "We Found Love". She put this video on YouTube. In 2012, she released another single called "Lost Inside".
Joining Super Fëmmes
In 2021, Emilia joined an all-female music group called Super Fëmmes. The group includes other talented singers like Therese Grankvist and Denise Lopez. In April 2022, Super Fëmmes released their first song. It was a cover of "Everybody's Free", a hit song from 1991.
