Emilia Uggla was a super talented Swedish musician. She was born on February 24, 1819, in Karlstad, Sweden. She became famous as a classical pianist and a concert singer. Sadly, she passed away on February 15, 1855, in Upperud.

Emilia came from a noble family. Her father was Carl Wilhelm Uggla, a captain. Her mother was Sara Johanna Frykman. Emilia learned to play the piano from a teacher named Olof Willman.

A Young Star's Debut

Emilia first performed in public in 1830. She was only eleven years old! She played in a concert in Stockholm, but her name was not announced. In 1831, she held her own public concert. This show was at the Stora Börssalen in Stockholm.

Touring the World

From 1831 to 1843, Emilia toured many countries. She performed in Sweden, Norway, and Denmark. Between 1838 and 1840, she also visited Finland and Russia. In Russia, she even played music for the Imperial court of the Tsar.

Later Life and Legacy

After her tours, Emilia became a music teacher. She taught from 1843 to 1847. In 1847, she married Theodor Wilhelm Christian Uggla. Sadly, she passed away in 1855 while giving birth.

The famous poet Johan Nybom wrote a special poem for her. It was called "Till en ung sångerska," which means "To a Young Singer."
