Emma Wright was born on November 16, 1996. She is a talented Canadian water polo player. She plays for the Canadian national women's water polo team. Emma also played water polo for her university team at the University of California, Berkeley.

Emma's Water Polo Journey
Emma Wright started playing water polo when she was just 9 years old. She quickly became a strong player. She has competed in many important water polo events.
Early Competitions
When Emma was younger, she played in several big tournaments:
- In 2012, she won a silver medal at the Junior Pan American Games.
- The next year, in 2013, she won a gold medal at the Junior Pan American Games.
- In 2014, Emma earned another silver medal at the FINA Youth World Championships. This shows she was one of the best young players in the world!
Playing for Canada's Senior Team
Emma joined the Canadian national women's water polo team. She has helped her team win several medals:
- She won silver medals at the Pan American Games in 2015 (Toronto), 2019 (Lima), and 2023 (Santiago). These games are a big competition for athletes from North and South America.
- Emma also helped her team reach the finals in other major events. This includes the FINA World League and FINA World Championships.
Emma at the Olympics
Emma Wright made her Olympic debut at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. She was one of 371 Canadian athletes there. During the games, Emma scored seven goals for her team. Team Canada finished in 7th place in the water polo tournament.
About Emma's Life
Emma studies at the University of California, Berkeley. She balances her studies with her demanding water polo career.
Water polo runs in her family! Her older sister, Claire, also plays for Team Canada. Claire was also part of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic water polo team with Emma. Their uncle, Jeff Beukeboom, was a professional ice hockey player. He played in the NHL for the New York Rangers and Edmonton Oilers.
