Emmet is a small village located in Holt County, Nebraska, in the United States. According to the 2020 census, only 46 people lived there. This makes Emmet a very tiny community.

History of Emmet
Emmet started in 1882. It was founded when a railroad line, the Fremont, Elkhorn and Missouri Valley Railroad, reached this spot. The village got its name from Robert Emmet, an important Irish leader.
The land around Emmet is great for growing wild hay. Early settlers made money by cutting and selling this hay. In the 1920s, a company called the Emmet-Elkhorn Valley Hay Company was started. Later, its name was shortened to the Emmet Hay Company. Because of its strong connection to hay farming, the community proudly calls itself the "Biggest Little Haytown in the World."
