Emma Daviti Bejanyan (Armenian: Էմմա Դավիթի Բեջանյան; born April 12, 1984), known as Emmy (Armenian: Էմմի), is a famous singer from Armenia. Many people call her a "pop princess" or "Armenian pop icon." This is because she is very popular and important in Armenian music. Emmy represented Armenia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011.

Emmy's Early Music Journey

Emmy started her music career very early, in 1993. Her first song was called "Hayastan." She also released a music video for it. After that, her career quickly became very successful.

Emmy won many awards at singing contests. These contests were held in Armenia, Russia, Turkey, and other parts of Europe. From 1994 to 2000, she sang and toured with a group called Hayer. This group was made up of four women who sang folk-pop music.

Other Exciting Projects

Emmy does more than just sing. She also runs a company called Emmy-B Production Center. This company helps find new young music talents in Armenia. It gives them a chance to start their own music careers.

In 2014, Emmy was a judge on a TV show. It was the Armenian version of The X Factor. She helped decide which singers were the best during the show's third season.

Singing at Eurovision

In February 2010, Emmy tried out for the Eurovision Song Contest 2010. She sang a song called "Hey (Let Me Hear You Say)" with another singer named Mihran. Even famous singer Ricky Martin liked their song!

They came in second place in the Armenian try-outs. Another singer, Eva Rivas, won with her song "Apricot Stone." So, Eva Rivas went to the 2010 contest instead.

The next year, Emmy got her chance! She represented Armenia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2011. The contest was held in Düsseldorf, Germany. On May 10, Emmy sang her song. However, she did not make it to the final round. This was the first time an Armenian singer did not qualify for the Eurovision final.

  • In 2014, LUXURY Magazine named her the "Year pop singer."
