Englevale is a small, quiet place in Crawford County, Kansas, United States. It's known as an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and buildings that don't have their own local government. Instead, it's part of a larger area called Lincoln Township.

The Story of Englevale

How Englevale Began

Englevale was first planned and settled in the fall of 1890. It got its name from Dan Engle, who was the original owner of the land where the community was built.

Post Office and Railroad

A post office opened in Englevale on January 14, 1891. Before it was called Englevale, its name was "Calvin." The post office served the community for many years but eventually closed on June 30, 1954.

Englevale was also an important stop along the Missouri Pacific Railroad. This railroad helped connect the community to other towns and cities, making it easier for people and goods to travel.
