A Look Back: Ennetbürgen's History

The town of Ennetbürgen has a long history! It was first written about way back in 1190. Back then, it was called Burgin. Over the years, its name changed a few times. In 1799, it was known as Enet-Bürgen, and by 1836, it became Ennerbürgen. Since 1850, the official name has been Ennetbürgen, just as we know it today.

Ennetbürgen's Geography

Ennetbürgen covers an area of about 9.4 square kilometers (or 3.6 square miles). A big part of this land, about 51.7%, is used for farming. This means you'll see lots of fields and farms around.

About 33.5% of the area is covered by forests, which are great for exploring nature. The rest of the land, about 14.7%, has buildings and roads. A very small part, just 0.1%, is made up of rivers or mountains.
