Early Life and Musical Journey

Leading the San Francisco Symphony
From 1954 to 1963, Jordá was the music director of the San Francisco Symphony. This was a very important job. During this time, he made many recordings. These recordings helped share his music with more people.
Famous Performances and Recordings
Jordá made several highly praised recordings. He recorded Spanish music with famous orchestras like the London Symphony Orchestra. One special recording was of Nights in the Gardens of Spain. He recorded it with the pianist Clifford Curzon.
He also led the first performance of Joaquín Rodrigo's Fantasía para un gentilhombre. This was a new piece of music for guitar and orchestra. The famous guitarist Andrés Segovia played the guitar part. Jordá also recorded Nights in the Gardens of Spain again with the San Francisco Orchestra and pianist Arthur Rubinstein.
After San Francisco
