Ephraïm Inoni was a important politician in Cameroon. He was born on August 16, 1947. From 2004 to 2009, he served as the Prime Minister of Cameroon.
Mr. Inoni worked closely with President Paul Biya for many years. He was also a member of the main political group, the Cameroon People's Democratic Movement (RDPC). President Biya chose him to be Prime Minister on December 8, 2004.

Early Life and Beginnings
Ephraïm Inoni grew up in the village of Bakingili. This village is near Limbé in the Southwest Region of Cameroon. He is from the Anglophone part of Cameroon and belongs to the Bakweri ethnic group.
He started his career in government finance. From 1981 to 1982, he was the treasurer for the city of Douala. After that, he worked as a treasurer at the Cameroonian Embassy in the United States from 1982 to 1984.
Working in Finance and Government
Mr. Inoni continued to work in finance. From 1984 to 1988, he was the Director of Account Balancing at the Ministry of Finance. This job involved making sure government accounts were correct.
Later, he moved into higher government roles. On April 9, 1992, he became the Secretary of State for Finances. Then, on November 27, 1992, he was named Deputy Secretary General to the President. He held this important position until he became Prime Minister in 2004.
Political Involvement
Ephraïm Inoni was an active member of the RDPC party. He was part of the Central Committee, which helps lead the party.
He played a role in President Biya's election campaign in 2004. Mr. Inoni led the campaign's support team in the Southwest Province. This showed his strong commitment to the party and the President.
Changes in Leadership
On June 30, 2009, President Biya made some big changes in the government. He removed Inoni from his role as Prime Minister. Another Anglophone politician, Philémon Yang, took his place.
This change was part of a larger government reshuffle. President Biya announced that many ministers were replaced or moved to new positions. These changes often happen when leaders want to bring in new ideas or respond to public concerns.
