Eric Metaxas (born June 27, 1963) is an American author and radio host. He is known for writing biographies and books about history. He has also written books for children.
Metaxas has written biographies about important historical figures. These include Amazing Grace about William Wilberforce, who worked to end slavery. Metaxas was born in Astoria, Queens, New York City. He grew up in Danbury, Connecticut. He went to Yale University and graduated in 1984. While at Yale, he worked on the Yale Record, a humor magazine. Today, Metaxas lives in Manhattan with his wife and daughter.
