Eric Mobley (born February 1, 1970 – died June 2, 2021) was an American professional basketball player. He played for three seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Eric was chosen by the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round of the 1994 NBA draft. He was the 18th player picked overall.

Eric Mobley was a tall player, standing 6 feet 11 inches (2.11 meters) tall. He played as a center. Before joining the NBA, he played college basketball at Allegany Community College and the University of Pittsburgh.

Playing in the NBA

Eric Mobley played for two teams during his NBA career. He started with the Milwaukee Bucks. Later, he played for the Vancouver Grizzlies. In total, he played in 113 NBA games.

During his time in the NBA, Eric averaged 3.9 points per game. He also grabbed 3.1 rebounds per game. He passed the ball for 0.5 assists per game. He also had 0.2 steals and 0.5 blocks per game.

College Basketball Career

Before turning professional, Eric Mobley was a standout player in college. He played for the University of Pittsburgh. In his final year at Pittsburgh (1993–1994), he had his best college season. He averaged 13.7 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. He was also known for blocking shots, averaging 2.8 blocks per game that season.

His strong performance in college helped him get noticed by NBA teams. This led to him being drafted in the first round of the NBA draft.

Later Life

Eric Mobley passed away on June 2, 2021. He died from cancer. He was 51 years old.
