Eric Rohmann (born October 26, 1957) is an American author and artist who creates pictures for children's books. He is famous for his beautiful illustrations and has won several important awards for his work.
He studied at Illinois State University and Arizona State University. Eric Rohmann is best known for his picture books, which often feature animals and imaginative stories.
Who is Eric Rohmann?
Eric Rohmann was born in 1957. He grew up as one of three children. As a kid, he didn't read much. Instead, he saw the world in pictures. This love for images later became his career.
He now lives and works in Illinois. He enjoys coffee and popcorn. He also likes the famous painting The Death of Sardanapalus by Eugène Delacroix.
Award-Winning Books
Eric Rohmann has won some of the highest honors in children's literature. In 2003, he won the Caldecott Medal. This award is given for the best illustrations in a U.S. picture book. He won it for his book My Friend Rabbit.
He was also a finalist for the Caldecott Medal in 1995 for his book Time Flies. More recently, he won the Sibert Medal. This award is for outstanding non-fiction books. He won it for his illustrations in Honeybee: The Busy Life of Apis Mellifera. His wife, Candace Fleming, wrote that book.

In 2015, Eric Rohmann started a very popular series of books. These books are about a friendly bulldozer. The first book in this series was Bulldozer’s Big Day. Kids love the adventures of the bulldozer and his friends.
