Erica Banks (born October 5, 1998) is an American rapper. She grew up in DeSoto, Texas. After releasing her first three mixtapes, she joined 1501 Certified Entertainment. This label released her self-titled mixtape in June 2020. This mixtape featured her first hit song, "Buss It". The song became super popular on TikTok. In January 2021, she signed with Warner Records. They re-released "Buss It" because it was so successful.

Early Life
Erica Banks was born and raised in DeSoto, Texas. When she was 12, she started writing poetry. She even won several school contests for her poems. In high school, she began rapping.
She later went to Texas A&M University–Commerce to study nursing. But while in college, she started recording her own songs. This made her decide to leave college during her second year. She wanted to focus completely on her music career.
Music Career
On March 17, 2019, Erica Banks released her first official mixtape. It was called Art of the Hustle. In April 2019, she signed with 1501 Certified Entertainment. She showed a short part of her song "Buss It" to the label's CEO, Carl Crawford, on Instagram Live. He liked it!
Even after signing with 1501 Certified, she released two more mixtapes herself. These were Pressure and Cocky on Purpose. They came out between June and November of that year.
On June 19, 2020, Banks released her fourth mixtape. It was simply called Erica Banks and came out through 1501 Certified. This mixtape had the full version of "Buss It." This song became a huge hit for her in January 2021. It started a viral trend on TikTok. This helped "Buss It" get on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This was her first time on such a big music chart.
In the same month, she signed a record deal with Warner Records. Later that month, she was featured on a song called "Star" by American rapper Yella Beezy. In June 2023, Banks joined the TV show Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta. In December 2024, Banks signed new deals with G-Unit Records and SRC Records. These labels worked together with Arista Records.
