Erik Shoji is an American professional volleyball player. He was born on August 24, 1989. He plays as a libero, which is a special defensive player in volleyball. Erik plays for the club team Asseco Resovia. He also plays for the U.S. national team.
Erik Shoji has won many important medals. He earned bronze medals at the Olympic Games in Rio 2016 and Paris 2024. He also won a bronze medal at the 2018 World Championship. Erik helped his team win gold at the 2014 World League and the 2015 World Cup. With his club team ZAKSA, he won the CEV Champions League twice.

Erik Shoji's Early Life
Erik Shoji was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. His dad, Dave Shoji, was a famous volleyball coach. Dave coached women's volleyball at the University of Hawaii. Erik's older brother, Kawika, is also a professional volleyball player.
Erik went to Punahou School. There, he helped his volleyball team win three state titles in a row. After high school, Erik went to Stanford University. He was the first player to be named an AVCA All-American four times. He also set a record at Stanford for the most career digs, with 1,402 total. Digs are when a player saves the ball from hitting the ground.
Erik Shoji's Professional Career
Erik Shoji joined the United States senior national team in 2013. He has played for Team USA in three Olympic Games. He won a bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics. He also won another bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
At the club level, Erik has played for teams in many countries. These include Germany, Poland, Austria, Italy, and Russia. Since 2021, he has played for the Polish club ZAKSA. With ZAKSA, he has won four Polish League trophies. He also helped them win two CEV Champions League titles.
