Erma Elzy's Career
Erma Elzy was born in Los Angeles, California. She started her career in television behind the scenes.
Early TV Work
She began as a Production Associate and Script Supervisor. This meant she helped manage the show's production. She also made sure the script was followed correctly during filming.
Erma worked on several well-known TV series. These included Double Trouble and 227. She also worked on ALF and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
Directing TV Shows
Later, Erma became an Associate Director. Her first time directing an entire episode was for the show Moesha. After that, she directed episodes for many other popular shows.
Some of these shows were Sister, Sister and The Wayans Bros.. She also directed for The Parkers, Girlfriends, and That's So Raven.
Films and Theater
In the 2000s, Erma Elzy started directing more short films and stage plays. In 2001, she directed a short film called Room 302. It starred actress Kristin Bauer.
Other films she directed include Man Made (2002). She also directed Silent Crisis: Diabetes Among Us. This was a TV documentary hosted by Debbie Allen.
