Eschen is a town in the northern part of Liechtenstein. It is pronounced "Esh-en" and is also known as Escha in the local High Alemannic German language. Eschen is one of the ten municipalities in Liechtenstein.
As of 2023, about 4,629 people live in Eschen. It covers an area of about 10.3 square kilometers (4 square miles). This makes it the fourth-largest town in Liechtenstein based on how many people live there.

Where is Eschen located?
Eschen is in the northern part of Liechtenstein. The municipality also includes a smaller village called Nendeln.
Nendeln has its own train station. This station is part of the Feldkirch-Buchs train line.
How is Eschen governed?
Eschen is run by a mayor and a council of 11 people. These leaders are chosen by the people of Eschen every four years. This system has been in place since 1975.
The current mayor of Eschen is Tino Quaderer. He has been the mayor since 2019.

Eschen is home to some important companies. The main offices for Novodent and ThyssenKrupp Presta are located here. These companies help create jobs and support the local economy.

Who are some famous people from Eschen?
Eschen has been home to several important people.
- Josef Hoop (1895–1959) was born in Eschen. He was a lawyer and served as the Prime Minister of Liechtenstein for many years, from 1928 to 1945.
- Gerard Batliner (1928–2008) was also born and lived in Eschen. He was a lawyer and later became the Prime Minister of Liechtenstein from 1962 to 1970.
- Marlies Amann-Marxer (born 1952) is a politician from Liechtenstein. She used to be a minister in charge of things like roads, the environment, and sports until 2017. She lives with her family in Eschen.
- Mauro Pedrazzini (born 1965) is another politician from Liechtenstein. He was the Minister of Social Affairs from 2013 to 2021. He has a special degree in physics and lives in Eschen.
- John Latenser Sr. (1858–1936) was born in Nendeln, which is part of Eschen. He was an architect who designed many big public buildings in Omaha, Nebraska in the United States.
