A Glimpse into Espinoso del Rey's Past
Espinoso del Rey has an interesting history! Long ago, it was just a small village, or "hamlet," that belonged to a larger area called Talavera de la Reina.
Back then, it was simply known as Espinoso. But things changed in 1579. During the time of King Philip II, Espinoso was given a special honor. It was granted the "privilege of town," which meant it became an official villa (town). This was an important step for the community.
