Ethel Blanchard Collver (1875 - November 10, 1955) was an American artist. She was known for her Impressionist paintings. She often painted portraits of children. She also created scenes of daily life and beautiful landscapes. Ethel Collver was also a teacher.

Ethel Blanchard Collver was born and grew up in Boston, Massachusetts. She studied art at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Her early art was shaped by her teachers there. These included famous artists like Frank W. Benson and Edmund C. Tarbell. After finishing school, she also studied with Charles Hawthorne.

Ethel painted many different subjects. She made portraits of children. She also painted scenes from everyday life. Landscapes were another favorite topic. She used various art materials. These included oil paints on canvas. She also made tiny paintings on shells. She drew with pencil and charcoal. She used watercolors and made etchings too.

Around 1904, Ethel started to focus on miniature paintings. She also became a well-known portrait painter. She was especially famous for her portraits of children. She continued painting portraits throughout her career.

In 1919 and 1920, she spent a year in Paris, France. She studied at the Académie Colarossi. Her teachers there included Charles Guerino and Bernard Naudin. While in Paris, she expanded her art. She began painting more daily life scenes and landscapes. She returned to Paris in 1932 for more studies.

In 1906, she married Leon L. Collver. He was a writer who traveled a lot. Together, they explored the world. Ethel's artwork shows her experiences from these trips. She painted scenes from Japan, France, Italy, and Greece. She also painted places like Jerusalem and Jamaica. When not traveling, she lived in different U.S. cities. These included places in Connecticut, New York, and Florida. Her paintings of daily life also show these East Coast locations. She often focused on children and women. Ethel Collver was a recognized artist. She gave lectures about art. She also taught art workshops. She held these in cities like Boston and New York. She even organized and led a two-month art trip to Paris.

In 1920, Ethel Collver was studying in Paris. Her oil painting called "February in the Luxembourg" was chosen for an exhibition. It was shown at the Spring Salon of the Societe Nationale des Beaux Artes.

Her artwork has been displayed in many museums and galleries. These are mostly on the East Coast of the U.S. Some places include the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. Her work was also shown at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. The National Academy of Design in New York displayed her art. She also exhibited at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia. Her art was even shown at the World's Fair 1939 in Chicago.

In 1934, Ethel Collver won an award. The National Association of Women Painters and Sculptors gave her the Olive Nobel Prize. She received it for her oil painting called "Manhattan Patterns." This award was for decorative painting.
