Euren (pronounced like "YOO-ren") is a small place in Wisconsin, United States. It's an unincorporated community, which means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government. Euren is located in Kewaunee County, within the larger area called the Town of Lincoln.
You can find Euren where two county roads, Highway C and Highway S, meet. It's about 8 miles west of a town called Algoma. People sometimes notice Euren because its name sounds a bit like the word "urine," which makes it stand out on lists of unusual place names.
A Look Back at Euren's History
Euren is an old settlement that was started by people from Germany. It's located in the northern part of Kewaunee County. The community is found along County Trunk S, which is a road that connects Algoma and Dyckesville.
How Euren Got Its Name
The early German settlers who came to this area were called Bottkols. They decided to name their new home "Euren." They chose this name after a small village in Germany, which was their original home. This is how the community got its unique name.
