The Evangelical Free Church in Sweden (Swedish: Evangeliska frikyrkan) is a Baptist church group in Sweden. It is connected to the European Baptist Federation and the Baptist World Alliance. The main office is in Örebro.
A Look at Its History

The Evangelical Free Church in Sweden started in 1997. It was formed when three different church groups decided to join together. These groups were:
- The Örebro Mission (Örebromissionen), which began in 1892.
- The Free Baptist Union (Fribaptistsamfundet), which started in 1872.
- The Holiness Union (Helgelseförbundet), which was founded in 1887.
In 2011, the church had about 32,223 members. By 2015, it had grown to 304 churches and 34,400 members. In 2023, the church reported having 32,500 members and 300 churches.
Learning and Education
The Evangelical Free Church in Sweden helps run a special school. This school is called the Academy for Leadership and TheologySwedish Alliance Mission and the Pentecostal Alliance of Independent Churches.
