Evie's Early Life and Dance Journey
Evie Ferris grew up in Cairns, Australia. She started taking dance and performing arts classes when she was only four years old. By the time she was ten, in 2007, she had a special role in a big ballet show. This show was called Don Quixote and was put on by The Australian Ballet.
Starting Her Professional Dance Career
Evie was one of only eight dancers chosen for a role after 150 young dancers tried out. She even played a puppet in a story called Man of La Mancha. In 2010, when she was twelve, Evie moved to Melbourne. This move was so she could join the famous Australian Ballet School.
She traveled with the school's Dancer's Company in 2014 and 2015. She also got to go on a student exchange trip to Canada in 2015. In that same year, 2015, Evie was chosen to join The Australian Ballet. She was the second Indigenous ballerina to join this important ballet company, following Ella Havelka.
Joining The Wiggles Family
In 2021, Evie Ferris became a new member of The Wiggles. The group expanded its lineup, and Evie was a perfect fit. She first appeared as the second Blue Wiggle. Later, she changed to become a Yellow Wiggle.
Evie is a Taribelang and Djabugay woman. This makes her the first Indigenous Australian person to be a main member of The Wiggles. She brings her incredible dance skills and joyful energy to the group.
