A Peek into Ewan's History: The Iredell House
One of the oldest buildings in Ewan is the Iredell House No. 2. It was built way back in 1793! A man named Thomas Iredell had it built for his second wife.
- If you look closely at the front of the house, you can see some special carvings.
- At the very top, there's the letter "I".
- Below that, you'll see "T.A.R.". People think these are the first letters of Thomas Iredell's three children.
- Right underneath those letters, the year "1793" is carved. This shows when the house was finished.
This old house helps us remember the history of Ewan and the families who lived there long ago.
