Fábio Santos Romeu, known simply as Fábio Santos, is a Brazilian former professional footballer. He was born on September 16, 1985, in São Paulo, Brazil. Fábio Santos played as a left back, a position on the side of the field that helps both defend and attack. He was especially known for being great at taking penalty kicks.
Fábio Santos's Amazing Football Journey
Fábio Santos had a long and successful career playing for many different football clubs. He was known for his strong defense and his ability to score goals from penalty kicks.
Starting Out: São Paulo and Loan Adventures
Fábio Santos began his football journey at São Paulo as a young player. He joined the main team in 2003. During his time there, he helped the club win big titles like the Copa Libertadores and the FIFA Club World Cup.
Even though he didn't play a lot of games at São Paulo, he gained experience by going on loan to other teams. In 2006, he played for J1 League team Kashima Antlers in Japan, where he scored three goals. In 2007, he returned to Brazil to play for Cruzeiro. Later, he went to France to play for Ligue 1 team AS Monaco. In 2008, he came back to Brazil again to play for Santos.
Finding His Stride: Grêmio and Corinthians
After his loan spells, Fábio Santos joined Grêmio in 2009. He played many games for them over two seasons.
In 2011, Fábio Santos moved to Corinthians. This is where he really shined! He became a very important player for the team. He helped Corinthians win many major championships, including:

New Challenges: Cruz Azul and Atlético Mineiro
In 2015, Fábio Santos decided to try playing in Mexico and joined Cruz Azul. He played 26 games and scored 3 goals there. He had a good first season, but in his second year, he didn't get to play as much.
In 2016, he returned to Brazil and signed with Atlético Mineiro. He quickly became a key player for them. In 2016, he even won the Bola de Prata award, which means he was chosen as the best left back in the Brazilian League that year! In 2017, he won his first trophy with Atlético Mineiro, the 2017 Campeonato Mineiro (Minas Gerais State Championship). He played his 100th game for the club in 2018.
Coming Home: Return to Corinthians
In 2020, Fábio Santos made an exciting move: he returned to Corinthians! He continued to play for them until 2023, adding more games and goals to his impressive career.
Playing for Brazil
Fábio Santos also represented his country, Brazil, on the international stage.
Youth Team
He played for the Brazil national Under-20 team in the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship. This is a big tournament for young players from all over the world.
Senior Team
In 2012, Fábio Santos was called up to play for the main Brazil national team. He made his debut for Brazil, also known as the Seleção, in a 2–1 victory against Argentina. This was a very special moment for him. He was called up again to the national team in 2016.
