Félix Paiva was an important Paraguayan politician. He was born on February 21, 1877, in Caazapá, Paraguay. He passed away on November 2, 1965, in Asunción. Paiva was a member of the Liberal Party.

He held many important jobs during his life. He was a university teacher and even the head (rector) of the university. He also served as the president of the country's highest court, the Supreme Court.

Félix Paiva had a long and active career in government. He served as a minister in different government departments many times.

From 1920 to 1921, Félix Paiva was the Vice President of Paraguay. The Vice President helps the President and can take over if the President cannot do their job.

Later, he became the President of Paraguay. This happened on August 15, 1937. He took office after the previous president, Rafael Franco, was removed from power.

Key Actions as President

As president, Félix Paiva did several important things. He brought back the political constitution from 1870. This constitution was a set of rules for how the country should be governed.

On October 10, 1938, the Congress of Paraguay officially confirmed him as the temporary president. One of his most significant achievements was signing a peace agreement with Bolivia in 1938. This agreement officially ended the Chaco War, a big conflict between Paraguay and Bolivia. His term as president ended on August 15, 1939.
