In 1998, FC Zvartnots played in the Armenian First League. This was like a lower division of professional football. They played really well and became the champions of that league! Winning the championship meant they earned a promotion. This allowed them to move up to the Armenian Premier League, which is the top football league in Armenia.
Playing in the Premier League
Once in the Premier League, Zvartnots continued to be a strong team. They were one of the main competitors for the championship. In their very first season in the Premier League, they finished in fourth place. This was a great achievement for a newly promoted team!
Their best season was in 2001. That year, they finished in second place, right after another strong team called FC Pyunik. This showed how talented and dedicated the players of FC Zvartnots were.
Why They Stopped Playing
FC Zvartnots was still part of the Premier League clubs for the 2003 season. However, before the season even started, the club decided to withdraw. This means they pulled out of the competition and stopped playing professional football. Since then, FC Zvartnots has not returned to professional football.
