The Armenian Premier League is the top football competition in Armenia. It's also known as the IDBank Armenian Premier League because of its sponsor. This league is where the best football teams in Armenia play against each other to become champions.

Before Armenia became an independent country, from 1936 to 1991, football competitions were held as regional tournaments within the USSR. After Armenia gained its independence, the Football Federation of Armenia took charge of organizing the league. Over the years, the league has grown and now has ten teams competing for the championship title. The team that wins the league gets a special spot in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League, which is a huge European competition!
