About Fabiana Rosales
Fabiana Andreína Rosales Guerrero was born in 1992 in a town called Tovar, in Mérida State, Venezuela. Her father, Carlos Rosales Belandria, was a farmer, and her mother, Elsy Guerrero, was a journalist.
Early Life and Education
As a child, Fabiana watched her mother interview people and became very interested in social issues. She also helped out on her family's farm. She decided to study journalism because she wanted to help her community.
In 2013, her father passed away from a heart attack. Fabiana felt that a lack of important supplies in Venezuela contributed to his death. Her cousin also died because they could not find the right products for a blood transfusion. These experiences made her even more determined to work for change.
Fabiana graduated in 2013 from Universidad Rafael Belloso Chacín with a degree in journalism and social communications. After graduating, she worked as a press officer for a city council in Mérida state. Later, she moved to Caracas and continued working in a similar role.
Family Life
Fabiana Rosales met Juan Guaidó at a youth rally. They got married in 2013. They have a daughter who was born in 2017.
Her Work as an Activist

While she was still in university, Fabiana Rosales started working with an opposition political party called Popular Will (which in Spanish is Voluntad Popular). She became a human rights activist. By early 2019, she had many followers on Instagram, where she shared her messages.
Fabiana has said that a big reason she does this work is for her daughter. She wants her daughter to grow up in a better Venezuela and not feel like she has to leave the country.
International Role

Fabiana Rosales has become an important voice for the Venezuelan opposition on the world stage. She travels to meet with Venezuelans living in other countries and with leaders from different nations. Her goal is to gain support for her country and for the opposition's efforts.
In March 2019, she visited countries in Latin America. She met with Martín Vizcarra, who was the president of Peru, and Sebastián Piñera, who was the president of Chile.
On March 27, 2019, she visited the White House in the United States. There, she met with US President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence. She explained that the situation in Venezuela was very serious, describing it as a choice between "freedom or dictatorship, life or death." President Trump called her "the first lady of Venezuela." After her visit to Washington, D.C., she went to Miami. She met with Miami mayor Carlos A. Giménez and was given the key to Miami-Dade County.
Some people who did not support her husband's movement said that her travels were an attempt to keep him in the news. However, Fabiana continued her efforts to bring attention to the situation in Venezuela and gather support.
