Facundo Conte, born on August 25, 1989, is a famous former professional volleyball player from Argentina. He is well-known for winning a bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020.

About Facundo Conte

Facundo Conte was born in Vicente López, Argentina. His father, Hugo Conte, was also a professional volleyball player. Hugo Conte won a bronze medal at the 1988 Olympic Games. Facundo finished his high school studies in Olivos.

Facundo's Volleyball Journey

Starting with the National Team

Facundo Conte first played for the Argentina national team in 2007. This was at the U19 World Championship, where his team finished in 4th place. He then joined the senior team in 2008 for the 2008 Volleyball America's Cup.

Later in 2008, Conte helped the junior national team win the South American Championship. They beat Brazil in the final. This was a big win, as it was the first time Argentina had won this tournament in 26 years.

Early Professional Career

In 2009, Conte played in his first World League with Argentina, finishing 5th. After that, he joined a club team called Zinella Bologna. His father, Hugo, was his coach there.

That same year, Conte also helped Argentina get third place at the U21 World Championship. This was the best result for Argentina in that tournament's history. In 2010, he played in the World League again. He was also chosen to play in the World Championship.

Winning Medals

In 2015, Facundo Conte won a gold medal at the 2015 Pan American Games. This was a major achievement for him and his team.

In 2013, he joined the club team PGE Skra Bełchatów. He helped them win the Polish Championship in 2014. On October 8, 2014, his team also won the Polish SuperCup. He continued to play for Skra until 2016, winning the Polish Cup in 2016.

After playing in Poland, Conte moved to China to play for Shanghai Golden Age. He played there for two seasons. In 2017, he also played for El Jaish in Qatar.
