Leopold worked hard to make the abandoned farm healthy again. He did this with the help of his family and friends. His efforts to restore the land inspired him to write his most famous book, "A Sand County Almanac." This book is about nature and how people should care for the environment. Aldo Leopold passed away in 1948 near his farm while helping to put out a grass fire.
