Fairview, Anchorage facts for kids
Fairview is a lively neighborhood in Anchorage, Alaska. It's located just east of Downtown Anchorage and west of the Merrill Field Airport. About 7,200 people call Fairview home. It's known as a community where many different families live and work.
Fairview was once its own town! But in the 1950s, it became part of Anchorage. Back then, it was the only place in the city where African-American families could buy homes.
Later, a big road called the Seward Highway was built right through the neighborhood. This caused some challenges for the area. There are plans to improve this by building parts of the highway underground in the future.
