The Faith Bible Church building was constructed in 1917. It was the very first church built in Northridge. Northridge is a community located in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, California.

In 1975, the Los Angeles Cultural Historical Board recognized the church. They declared it a City of Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument. This means it is an important historical building.

A Look Back: The Church's History

The church building has a special design called Carpenter Gothic Victorian style. It was built using wood, with a tall steeple at the front entrance. This style looks a bit like older Gothic churches, but it's simpler.

The church was built nine years after the Southern Pacific Railroad laid its first tracks through Northridge. Back then, Northridge was known as Zelzah station.

When it first opened, the church was called the Norwegian Lutheran Church. This is because the first six families who started the church were from Norway.

The Church Today

The original church building is still standing strong. You can find it at 18531 Gresham Street in Northridge. For many years, it was known as the Faith Bible Church.

More recently, a new group has taken over the church. It is now used by a Korean congregation. This group is known as either the Northridge Free Methodist Church or the Los Angeles Antioch Church.

If you look at the photo from March 2008, you can see the sign on the church. It clearly identified the building as the Los Angeles Antioch Church at that time.
