Faithorn is a small, unincorporated community located in Menominee County, in the state of Michigan. It's found along County Road 577, about 1 mile (1.6 km) east of the border with Wisconsin. Being an "unincorporated community" means it's a recognized place, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or a village.
History of Faithorn
Faithorn started out as a busy town focused on lumbering, which means cutting down trees and processing wood. It even had its own post office for many years, from 1903 or 1905 until 1955. The community was named after a man named John Nicholson Faithorn (1852–1914). He was an important person in the railroad business in Chicago.
