Farid Hamed El Abdellaoui (born on June 4, 1986), known as Farid Bang, is a German rapper. He has roots from both Morocco and Spain. Today, he owns his own music company called Banger Musik.
Early Life
Farid Bang was born in Melilla, Spain. He spent his early childhood in Málaga. When he was eight years old, he moved to Düsseldorf, Germany, with his mother and sister. His mother grew up in Germany and has Moroccan family. His father is from Melilla, Spain. Farid Bang has mentioned his heritage comes from the Berber people.
He started rapping when he was 19 years old. His friend Tekken inspired him to begin. With help from his friend Summer Cem, he soon met Eko Fresh, who was already a well-known rapper in Germany. At the start of his career, Farid Bang used the name Farid Urlaub.
Music Career
Early Albums

In March 2009, Farid Bang was featured on a song called "Westdeutschlands Kings." This song was part of an album from the hip hop company Selfmade Records. Other rappers like Kollegah and Favorite were also on the song.
In July 2009, he worked with Kollegah to release an album called Jung, brutal, gutaussehend. This album did very well, reaching number 30 on the German music charts. The music video for its only single, "Mitternacht," was filmed in Belgrade, Serbia.
On March 12, 2010, Farid Bang released his second album, Asphalt Massaka 2. This album reached number 56 on the German charts. He released a song called "Wer will Beef" for free before the album came out. The first single from the album was "Teufelskreis." Music videos for some of his songs, like "Es ist soweit," featured other artists and even German footballer Kevin Kurányi.
Growing Success
On February 18, 2011, Farid Bang released his third album, Banger leben kürzer. This album was very successful. It reached number 11 in Germany, number 25 in Switzerland, and number 32 in Austria. These were his highest chart positions at that time. Before the album was released, he shared a ten-part video series on YouTube to promote it.
Chart-Topping Albums
In 2013, Farid Bang released a song called "Bitte Spitte Toi Lab." This was his first solo song to reach the Top 40 in Germany and Austria. His album Killa was released on February 14, 2014. It became a number 1 hit in both Germany and Austria.
His next album, Asphalt Massaka 3, came out on March 27, 2015. It also debuted at number 1 in Germany and Switzerland. It reached number 3 in Austria. His seventh album, Blut, was released on May 27, 2016.
