Farmers is a small, quiet community in the state of Indiana, United States. It's located in the southwest part of Owen County, within Franklin Township. This community is about twelve miles south of Spencer, which is the main town of Owen County. Farmers is also sometimes called Farmers Station. It sits at an elevation of 591 feet (180 meters) above sea level.

History of Farmers

The community of Farmers got its name from a local merchant whose last name was Farmer. A post office was first opened here in 1869, and it was called Farmers Station. In 1882, the name of the post office was changed to just Farmers. It continued to serve the community until it closed down in 1931.
