Farrah Yousef was born in Tartus, a city by the sea in Syria, on July 20, 1989. She started singing on stage when she was only seven years old! Her first big performance was at the Abu Dhabi Cultural Center. She sang a song called "Sit Al Hbayib" for a large audience, including important people like Sheikha Fatima. Everyone loved her performance, and from that moment, Farrah knew she wanted to be a singer.
After finishing high school, Farrah earned a special scholarship. This allowed her to study medicine in Italy. While there, she also learned different styles of Western singing. She even learned to sing in English, French, and Italian!
In 2011, Farrah got a chance to sing the main song for a Syrian TV series called "Wilada Mina Al Khassira." The next year, in 2012, she sang theme songs for two more series, "Bet Amer" and "Al Amemy."
Farrah's Adventure on Arab Idol
Arab Idol is a very popular TV show where singers compete to become the next big star in the Arab world. After the first season was a huge success, the second season started on March 8, 2013.
At that time, there was a difficult situation in Syria. This made Farrah unsure if she should try out for the show. But her friends and family encouraged her to follow her dream. She said that watching the show made her want to give it a try. It was even hard for her to leave Syria to audition. Her car almost got caught in a dangerous situation as she traveled from Damascus to Beirut for the auditions.

Farrah sang "Ifrah Ya Albi" by the legendary singer Umm Kulthum. The judges were impressed, and she moved on to the next round!
During the competition, people in Beirut, where the show was held, would gather in outdoor cafes. They would watch Farrah perform on big screens, and her beautiful voice would fill the streets.
